The Foursquare Church offers our local churches covering as well as the synergy that comes with being part of a global movement. Whether you want to keep your property, bring your property into Foursquare, or just want to be able to join us for our events, we have a place for you within Foursquare.
Become a Covenant Church
As a Covenant Church, you can own and manage your real property. This path allows you to be an official local Foursquare church but maintain your own corporate existence. This is a great option if you want to join Foursquare but don’t want to lose your congregation’s investment of property.
Under a Covenant Agreement, your church agrees to operate as a local Foursquare church and follow the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) bylaws. In return, your church gains access to Foursquare events, insurance support, pastoral retirement benefits, loan opportunities, legal consultation and counseling.

Become a Charter Church
As a Charter church, your church gains access to Foursquare events, pastoral retirement benefits, church loan opportunities, legal consultation, insurance support and counseling. Also, you will not need to own church property. Instead, the title to any real property will be jointly owned by all Foursquare churches through our national corporate structure.
In a Charter Agreement, your church agrees to operate as a local Foursquare church and follow all International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) bylaws. In return, your church gains access to all the benefits available to Charter churches.

The process to become a Foursquare Charter church is the same as that of becoming a Covenant Church. The only difference is that any real property will be jointly owned with Foursquare. Whether a Charter Church or Covenant Church is the best fit, your district can help get you started.
Once you meet your district’s qualifications, you can expect the whole process of becoming a Charter Church to take six months or less.

Foursquare Community churches are completely autonomous and independent legal entities. A Foursquare Community Church affiliates with Foursquare but is not a Foursquare legal entity.
